Me Made May 2012 delfinelise

It´s that time of the year. My favorite holiday (IMO MMM is an holiday): Me Made May! Are you excited? I am excited. So. Last year my resolution looked a little something like this: “I, Sølvi of delfinelise.com, endeavor to wear only me-mades throughout the month of May 2013 (with the exception of tights, footwear, national costume and bras) with no repeating outfits. I will take the opportunity to wear my least worn pieces of clothing, and try to incorporate them into regular rotation. Each week I will wear at least one outfit inspired by other MMM´ers, either from this year or earlier years challenges.” But, what should I do to up…

I met both Roisin and Nic once, last year while visiting London – both terrific people. So when I learned the news that they were getting married, and that Sarah would host a Sew- Along, the excitement was pretty big. Sarah – you are a genius (and thank goodness you didn´t quit blogging all together)! Roisin and Nic – all the best to both of you from both Anders and I – we are so happy for you! So, what did I make for the Sew-Along? Well, seeing so many gorgeous dresses popping up around the web, I wasn´t sure where to start. But then Sarah tweeted a…

Springspirations

By Sølvi Elise | 06/03/2014

Spring is in the air. Although there might be a couple of months still before the leaves on the trees will start to show up, it definately is time for some spring sewing planning. Of course, I´ve had my Springspiration board on Pinterest for months, so I am not completely unprepared. colors As you might see from my blog design, hot pink is on my mind. Together with neutrals like chocolate brown, grayish blues, white and black, I am looking forward to a sleek looking spring. Of course, there will be some exceptions, like the crazy print dress I am making for Sew Dolly Clackett, or the bright…

Deer and Doe Airelle

Airelle Deer and Doe delfinelise

The last thing I finished in 2013 was a Deer and Doe Airelle. Since May I have been falling more and more for Deer and Doe´s pattern line. Apart from the fact that the designs are trĂŠs chic and very well made, the ones I have made (Datura, Belladonne and Airelle) all go easy on the meterage. There are so many patterns out there that requires lots and lots of meters of fabric, so it is refreshing with a brand that seem to have that in mind when designing. Nice work, Deer and Doe! The white rayon was purchased in a thrift shop years ago – finally it…

Sølvi Elise is wearing a selfmade shirt and heavy glasses

Hi there! I´m Sølvi Elise. Welcome to my little corner of the Internet. This is a space where I share my craft projects  and thoughts and ideas concerning handmade in a consumerist world.

I live in Oslo, Norway where I use my spare time stitching up my own wardrobe. So far, I´d say that 80 % of my closet is filled with me-mades. I also have an interest in historical sewing, embroidery, knitting, crochet, leatherwork, tablet weaving, rigid heddle loom- weaving, cocktails, jewelry making, makramÊ, shoe making, drawing, paper craft, machine knitting and generally any craft that looks like fun.
