Cropped Burda Jacket

I can’t believe it’s June already, and I haven’t shown you any of my Sew Cinematic creations! Just a little recap, my inspiration for this sew-along looks a little something like this:  So far, I have made the cropped jacket from Hudsucker Proxy and the shirt and trousers from The Last Time I Saw Paris. All items will get a review of their own, and I will start with the jacket. First of all I’ll tell you that I absolutely love  the jacket, and I’ve worn it tons since I made it! I have yet to find a good photo of the bolero that inspired the jacket, so you’ll…

Hi all! Me-Made May´12 is over, and I hope to get back to regular blogging soon! Only thing I didn´t take into consideration before I signed up to Me-Made May this year, was that I would be painting furniture and a terrace this month. For that I didn´t wear me-mades. I don´t have any me-mades (yet) that I wanted to sacrifice to the painting gods, so I did it in old RTW instead. Here is a collage of what I wore the last part of May, there are some garments that I have yet to blog about, so look out for some pattern reviews here on this space…

Where I´m at.

By Sølvi Elise | 21/05/2012

If anyone´s wondering where I am at, check out the Me-Made-May 2012 flickr group, and there you´ll find me! I thought I´d share some of my outfits with you here on the blog as well, and I´ve put together a collage of the first couple of weeks. If you click on the image it´ll take you to my MMM´12 photo set on flickr, and there you will find more detailed descriptions of the different garments I am wearing. I am enjoying this May a lot, and as always, it´s sooo inspiring to see what everyone else is creating and wearing! This is my sixth me-made challenge, and for me, this time…

An update might be in order.

By Sølvi Elise | 04/04/2012

During the last couple of months I haven´t been able to show you much of anything I´ve been sewing. Because I have a neck problem, my computer time has been limited for work only, but I am slowly getting better, and hope to return to “regular schedule” during the next couple of months. Speaking of next couple of months, guess who´s moving during the summer? Yup, it´s official, my darling and I are moving back to Oslo this year. I am so thrilled to go back to live in the same place as most of my friends, and to be able to live by the sea again. So…

So, this is a sketch I drew in the iPad app Paper. All digital, and just using my index finger. Kind of cool, right?

Sølvi Elise is wearing a selfmade shirt and heavy glasses

Hi there! I´m Sølvi Elise. Welcome to my little corner of the Internet. This is a space where I share my craft projects  and thoughts and ideas concerning handmade in a consumerist world.

I live in Oslo, Norway where I use my spare time stitching up my own wardrobe. So far, I´d say that 80 % of my closet is filled with me-mades. I also have an interest in historical sewing, embroidery, knitting, crochet, leatherwork, tablet weaving, rigid heddle loom- weaving, cocktails, jewelry making, makramÊ, shoe making, drawing, paper craft, machine knitting and generally any craft that looks like fun.
