Thrift shopping

A couple of days ago I went out on a thrift shopping round. Wow, did I get lucky! I found fabrics for a whole bunch of fun summer projects, and some for the autumn as well. This plaid fabric is an old bed sheet that at the moment is cut, and is to become a pair of high waisted shorts from Burda June 2009 issue. This lightweight cotton voile curtain will transform into a McCalls 6083 jumpsuit as soon as I get the pattern in the mail. This jersey sailor print is my favorite, and it has already become a boatneck top that will be showed off in the MMM-…

Spring dresses!

Alright so the sun is shining today, and the birds are singing and flowers are blossoming, but still I miss that  spring feel. You know, a warm breeze that makes you want to be outside all day. By Sølvi Elise | 10/05/2010

So the first week of Me-Made-May has passed, and I must say, it has worked remarkably well.On day three and on day six I had some trouble, as the outfits I was going to wear in one way or another didn´t work. me-made-may!

By Sølvi Elise | 27/04/2010

I´m so exited! After buying a couple of patterns over at Colette patterns, and reading their blog, I found Zoe´s blog and her fantastic challenge. Every day in May she will (and now I will and a bunch of other crafters will) try to wear something self-made every day of the month of May. I´m thrilled about this event, as it gives new inspiration to my own challenge. I will try to post about this event regularly in May, and document how I´m doing. Fun!!!

Sølvi Elise is wearing a selfmade shirt and heavy glasses

Hi there! I´m Sølvi Elise. Welcome to my little corner of the Internet. This is a space where I share my craft projects  and thoughts and ideas concerning handmade in a consumerist world.

I live in Oslo, Norway where I use my spare time stitching up my own wardrobe. So far, I´d say that 80 % of my closet is filled with me-mades. I also have an interest in historical sewing, embroidery, knitting, crochet, leatherwork, tablet weaving, rigid heddle loom- weaving, cocktails, jewelry making, makramÊ, shoe making, drawing, paper craft, machine knitting and generally any craft that looks like fun.
