First of all, thank you all so much for the lovely comments on my last post, it prompted me to make another refashion of a shirt! This time a less radical change, I just wanted one of my darlings old crisp white shirts to fit me instead of him. The shirt tucked into the wool version of my beloved Vogue 8604. Just so you know, my camera didn´t want to co-operate with me today, so all recent photos are heavily edited… I wanted to keep the dressy look of this shirt, so I kept the collar, I never wear it closed so I don´t mind that it is…

Just as many times, I have become disappointed about the unsatisfactory result when I try to do something similar. Why oh why isn´t the pretty shirtdress working for me? Excuse my bad posture, but I tried to fit the whole outfit into the picture… This time I am rejoicing the half- circle skirt. I know there is a lot of talk about the full circle skirt in our sewing community, praising it simplicity, its flattering shape, its versatility and how much fun it is to wear. I am now about to pay homage to  the even simpler, even more flattering, versatile and…

I have to say, making the photographing part into a fun thing instead of a necessary task was really the best thing I´ve done this time around. Everything is just so much more fun when I´m not forcing myself to take photos in a hurry! On dressing only in me made´s, I am now in a place where that isn´t much of a problem. I wear at least one me made garment each day the rest of the year anyway, and my…

Hi there! I´m Sølvi Elise. Welcome to my little corner of the Internet. This is a space where I share my craft projects and thoughts and ideas concerning handmade in a consumerist world.
I live in Oslo, Norway where I use my spare time stitching up my own wardrobe. So far, I´d say that 80 % of my closet is filled with me-mades. I also have an interest in historical sewing, embroidery, knitting, crochet, leatherwork, tablet weaving, rigid heddle loom- weaving, cocktails, jewelry making, makramÊ, shoe making, drawing, paper craft, machine knitting and generally any craft that looks like fun.
