Self-Stitched September – halfway through

SSS: Day 17
Day 17

When I joined Me-Made May back in April, I didn´t have a clue about how it was going to change my whole sewing experience. I had no idea that there were so many fantastic people out  there, sewing beautiful and creative stuff, writing interesting and thought provoking blogs, and supporting each other in a way that is just amazing!

SSS:
Day 8

Some bloggers are newbies, and are sewing up some of their first garments, others have been sewing since they were little, and have no trouble pulling together outfits for Self- Stitched September.

SSS: Day 10
Day 10

For MMM I chose the light version, as I didnt think I had enough stuff for an entire outfit. I have done a lot of sewing since then, and signed up for the full version of SSS. Man! It´s not as easy as I thought. There are a few key items that´s missing from my wardrobe.

SSS: Day 13
Day 13

  • A grey, black or navy full sleeved  cotton cardigan. I have knitted two cardis, but both have 3/4- length sleeves, and they are knitted in mohair, which means they tend to get a bit too warm…
  • A few more easy- to- wear tops. The tops I have made gets a heavy rotation, and I need to launder more often than I am used to.
  • A practical autumn jacket. I have one on the sewing table, still not finished. I must snap to it!

SSS: Day 15
Day 15

To round up, I feel that joining in on the online sewing fun has been a huge step for my sewing, and if it hadn´t been for all of you amazing seamstresses, I would have still been sewing up stuff I didn’t need. So I guess what I´m saying is: thank you!

I totally agree with you. Being able to see what is missing from a daily wardrobe is invaluable. I was a bit tired of trying to find the PERFECT pattern for the PERFECT outfit. I just need regular clothes with some spice now and then. The skirts in the photos above are so cute-I’ll bet they get some wear.

love the outfits you posted, they’re fabulous! i’m a newbie sewist and figuring out how to make things plus having at least 1 thing i can wear everyday has been hectic!! but you’re right, it’s turned my focus from making cute dresses for the weekends to making things i can wear everyday.

Great outfits! So great that this challenge has inspired you! My favourite outfit is your first one, with the scarf and the sweater and the skirt. So cosy and cute!
